| Hey Josh i saw your run in the trippin in clovis sorry it didn`t work out for you. anyway my question is this, I haven`t roped since i broke my hand last year. I`ve been practicing on dummies but no live steers. I`ve been working on crossing over from heading to heeling. any advise on how to make this transition smoother? by the way we came in fourth in the wild cow milking. maybe next year we`ll have you rope for us. congrats on he twins. alisha and i are still waiting for ours. |

| Hello Kris, Thanks for the question. You are on the right track with your roping. Just keep roping the dummy and when your heeling compared to heading you want to really keep your swing over your left shoulder. With a heading loop you will keep it real flat and level and when you are heeling you want to keep your elbow up and have the tip of your swing come right over the left hip of the steer and then it is all about timing.
Good luck with your roping and congratulations on your little one. |

| Hello Adison, Thank you for coming to our site and we really appreciate your support. It is great to hear from you, and I hope all is well. I am now coaching the rodeo team in Las Vegas, NV. So it keeps me really busy. I am in Casper, WY for the college finals right now with four of my students.
Tell your family hello and take care! |

| Hi Josh, Jon and Jeremiah,
My dad says he knows you. He said he has some pictures he took with you in Frisco, CO in January. Let me know if you want them and I`ll send them to you. But my question is this; Is life on the road as hard as it seems? |

| Hello Asher, It is great to hear from you and tell your Dad we said hello!
I would love to have you send those pictures to my email. On your question, yes it is very hard on the road, the time away from your family, you don`t get a chance to eat as good as you can at home, and the hours put in driving really wears a guy down. There are many sights to see though and new friends to meet so there are many good things at the same time. |

| I have a mare that I am just starting out inthe box. She tracks the cows good and usually lines me up for a good shot. However, she will not back into the corner of the box. I will line her up and she just won`t go. I end up out in the middle of the box when I nod my head. How can I get her to back into the corner? any tips would be great. |

| It is normal for a young horse to be afraid of backing in the corner of the box. One thing you can do is feed them some grain tied in the box and let them know that it is not a pressure place. I would ride your horse out of the arena and just start backing them into anything a tree, a fence post, etc. Just try not to back into anything that will hurt them or cut them up. This will help them get used to having something touching there hind quarters.
Good luck and Take care!! |
