biographyPure determination drives PRCA cowboy, Jon Peek to thrive in the rodeo arena and in academics. Jon not only pursues his passions, he perfects them. This unique quality has earned him many honors throughout his rodeo and academic career. "I always give it my all no matter what I'm doing. I go above and beyond to better myself and get ahead of the game. I don't settle for anything but the best," states Jon. Ray, father of the Peek brothers and PRCA veteran, taught all the boys to rope at young ages. Jon was only eleven when he began to handle a rope like a pro. He looks up to his dad as an accomplished roper and continues to seek coaching tips from him to this day. Jon's rodeo career began when he became a member of the National Little Britches Rodeo Association (NLBRA) in 1993. His talent is apparent by his list of numerous accomplishments in school, rodeo and ROTC involvement. In addition to NLBRA, Jon's rodeo membership has included National High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA), National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA), Colorado Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA), Kansas Professional Rodeo Association (KPRA), Texas Cowboys Rodeo Association (TCRA), as well as the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). Jon's true gift, however, is training and handling the majority of horses the Peek's raise to keep these brothers on the rodeo trail. Intellect and willpower keep this cowboy on the top of his game and there's no stopping him. His future looks bright as he focuses his attention on his ultimate goal, qualifying for the National Final Rodeo. Sure this is every cowboy's dream, but only those daring enough would get in Jon's path.
